First Dream Seed Yoga Classes

Dream Seed Yogini
Dream Seed Yoga held its first two classes ever on April 28 and 29 in Oshu City, Iwate, Japan. There were 16 students in attendance over the two classes. The charity event raised JPY15,500 (almost US$200) that will directly support the islanders on Ajishima who are still struggling to survive after Japan's triple disaster.

The space was donated as well by a local business man, and Michie's old yoga teacher from when we lived here previously was the indisputable key to arranging and organizing the event. Thank you to everyone involved.

The next Dream Seed Yoga sessions will take place on Ajishima (date TBD) with Michie's stated goal of "soothing the trauma the islanders suffer, and to help them plant their own dream seeds for a better future."

Dream Seed Yoga : Inaugural Session

We are proud to announce the first ever Dream Seed Yoga classes on April 28 and 29.

Michie has been buzzing about since the triple disaster struck Japan, looking for a way to reach out and help the people around us. Next week she will teach her first ever yoga class (after having received her yoga instructor certification in February). The sessions will be entirely free with any donations received going to help those still recovering from the disasters. The studio space has been donated by a local restaurant and Michie's old yoga teacher is collaborating with her to help draw in a bigger crowd.

We are quite distant from the heavily damaged coastline, and most people fared comparatively well around the area where we are currently staying. That is to say, they suffered little in the way of physical harm, although the psychological, mental and spiritual toll has been great here as throughout the country. Michie hopes to attenuate the hardships somewhat and to bring a sense of soothing to the people.

She has been working on her own style of teaching yoga since before she started training to become a teacher herself. Her unique brand of "Dream Seed Yoga" combines a firm foundation in hatha yoga with the ethereal bond we all share with one another and the universe. This connection we all share is powerful once tapped into, indeed it has the potential to invigorate the rebirth taking place here and around the world right now.

If you are on this side of the planet next week, relatively near to Oshu City in Iwate, then please drop in and plant your "Dream Seed" with us.

We appreciate all of your support and encouragement along the way.
